About me
My dad runs Engage Web, a company that, among a lot of other things, builds websites for its clients. Growing up, I found that fascinating: the idea that you could make something yourself, from nothing. He gave me a few books on HTML and JavaScript, and I worked through them, building silly little pages along the way. My interest has only grown over the years, and I've been tinkering and learning as much as I can ever since.
Most of what I've built so far has been for work: several projects running to thousands of lines each. I can't share them, but I'm proud of them and of the difference they've made to the business. Now I want to put more time into personal projects, building and learning for myself and sharing what I find so it's useful to others too.
Alongside all that, I'm studying Computer Science with the Open University. I'm in my first year, enjoying it a lot and learning a huge amount. When I'm not studying or coding, I'm usually reading, digging into some data, or chasing down the next idea.
