Privacy notice
Last updated 2 November 2026
This notice explains what information Lelushia (lelushia.com) collects, why, how long it's kept, and the choices you have. It's written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who's responsible
The site is run by Lelushia Jamieson, who is the data controller for the information below. Contact: contact@lelushia.com.
What's collected
If you only read the site
- Visit counts. When you open a page, the site counts it. To tell visitors apart for one day, it stores a scrambled code made from your IP address, your browser type and a random value that is deleted every 24 hours. After that, the code can't be linked back to you. No cookies are used for this, and nothing is shared with anyone. The site also works out which country the visit came from, using a database of address ranges kept on the site's own server (provided by DB-IP); only the country is recorded, never the address. It also notes which website linked you here, if your browser says. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", your visits aren't counted at all.
- Server logs. The web server records IP addresses, pages requested and browser details to keep the site secure and working. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.
If you create an account
- Account details: username, email address and password. Your password is stored only as a salted Argon2id hash, which can't be turned back into the password.
- Profile details you choose to add: display name, profile photo, bio, location, hobbies and date of birth. Your date of birth is never shown publicly; if you switch it on, only your birthday (day and month) appears on your profile. Uploaded photos are re-saved by the site, which removes hidden data such as GPS location.
- Things you post: comments (public), likes (counted publicly) and direct messages (visible only to you and the person you message).
- Security records: when you last logged in and were active, and failed login attempts (with the IP address, deleted after 24 hours).
Why it's used, and the legal basis
- Running your account and delivering comments and messages — to provide the service you signed up for (contract).
- Security, preventing abuse and moderation — legitimate interests in keeping the site and its members safe.
- Visit counts — legitimate interests in understanding which pages are read, using the minimum data needed.
- Optional profile details — your choice to add them; you can remove them at any time.
- Advertising cookies, if ads are shown — your consent (see below).
Direct messages
Messages travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and are stored on the site's server. They are not end-to-end encrypted, so the site's operator could technically access them. They will only be looked at if someone reports abuse or the law requires it.
Advertising
The site doesn't show ads at the moment. If that changes, this notice will be updated first, and you'll be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are used.
Who it's shared with
- The site is hosted by Fasthosts Internet Ltd, in the United Kingdom, which stores the data on the operator's behalf.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it. Your data is never sold.
How long it's kept
- Account, profile, comments and messages: until you delete them or your account.
- Visit counts (with country and linking website): up to 13 months, without anything that identifies you.
- Server logs: 14 days. Failed login records: 24 hours.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or download your information, or object to how it's used. Most of this you can do yourself from your account page:
- Edit your profile at any time.
- Download everything stored about you with "Download my data".
- Delete your account, which permanently removes your profile, photo, comments, likes and messages.
For anything else, email contact@lelushia.com. If you're unhappy with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
You must be 13 or older to create an account.
